H3 Latent Upscale Pixaroma

Makes a MiniMax H3 video bigger in latent form, so H3 can re-draw it in Full HD or 2K with new detail.

In ComfyUI: double-click an empty spot on the canvas and type H3 Latent Upscale Pixaroma.

What it does

A MiniMax H3 video made small (for example 480 x 864) is quick and keeps the person well, but it is soft. This node enlarges the video's latent with a trained upscaler. H3 then re-draws the bigger latent in a few steps, and that re-draw is what adds the detail: skin, hair, fabric, metal.

The node alone makes the video bigger, not sharper. Always follow it with the re-draw.

Where it goes

Your video, then VAE Encode with the H3 video VAE, then H3 Latent Upscale Pixaroma, then H3 Audio Sync with your clip's own sound, then the sampler that re-draws it.

It also takes the latent straight out of an H3 sampler, so a first pass can be enlarged without decoding it.

Width and height

The new size in picture pixels, rounded to a multiple of 32 (H3 needs that). Keep the shape of your video: 1088 x 1920 is Full HD portrait, 1440 x 2560 is 2K portrait, 2560 x 1440 is 2K landscape.

It only makes a latent bigger and keeps its shape. A size smaller than the video on either side, or a different shape (a portrait size for a landscape video), stops the run with a message that names a size that fits. The same size hands the picture back unchanged.

Picture and sound

A latent that holds picture and sound keeps its sound exactly as it was. A latent with only a picture (from VAE Encode) gets a silent sound part of the right length, so it can go straight on to H3 Audio Sync or a sampler.

Lock your clip's real sound with H3 Audio Sync before the re-draw. In our test the mouth followed the speech much more closely than with silence.

The model file

Needs an H3 latent upscaler file in ComfyUI/models/latent_upscale_models: minimax_h3_latent_upscaler_3d_conv_v1 (bf16 or fp16) from the LBH-123-AI page on Hugging Face. Press R in ComfyUI after adding it so the list shows it.

The enlarging itself takes a few seconds on a 24 GB card (about 4 seconds for 5 seconds of video to 1088 x 1920). The model is loaded onto the graphics card only for that and handed back right after.

Where it comes from

It is the 3D latent upscaler node from Comfyui_Minimax_h3_latent_Upscaler by LBH-123-AI (MIT licence). The math is the same, so the result matches the original node exactly with the same model file and size. You do not need that pack installed for this node.

What you wire in

latentLATENT
The MiniMax H3 latent to make bigger: VAE Encode with the H3 video VAE, or the latent out of an H3 sampler. Picture and sound both work.

The settings on the node

upscale_modelchoice
The H3 latent upscaler file, from models/latent_upscale_models. minimax_h3_latent_upscaler_3d_conv_v1 is the one NVIDIA's 2K regenerate uses.
minimax_h3_latent_upscaler_3d_conv_v1_fp16.safetensorsltx-2-spatial-upscaler-x2-1.0.safetensorsltx-2.3-spatial-upscaler-x2-1.1.safetensors
widthnumberdefault 1440
The new width in picture pixels. Rounded to a multiple of 32, which H3 needs. Keep the shape of your video: 1440 x 2560 is 2K portrait, 2560 x 1440 2K landscape.
heightnumberdefault 2560
The new height in picture pixels. Rounded to a multiple of 32, which H3 needs.

What comes out

latentLATENT
The bigger H3 latent, picture and sound together. Send it to H3 Audio Sync (to keep your own sound) or to the sampler that re-draws it.
Works with MiniMax H3 latents only. Any other latent stops the run with a message.
